These are the terms you agree to when you submit a build to CouchRig. They are short on purpose. Version 2026-07-21 - the version you agreed to is recorded on your submission, so you can always check what you actually signed up for.
You keep ownership of your build and your photos. Submitting them does not transfer anything to us.
What you grant us is a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to show them on couchrig.com, resize and crop them to fit the layout, and feature them when we talk about the site - including social posts. Non-exclusive means you can post the same photos anywhere else you like, and you do not need to ask us.
You confirm the photos are ones you took, of a build you own. Not a manufacturer press shot, not a picture of someone else’s rig, not something you found in a thread. If you are not sure you have the right to a photo, leave it out - a build page with fewer photos is fine.
We can reject it, edit it for clarity, or remove it. If we reject it we tell you why - that is the moderator note you see on the build, and fixing what it says and resubmitting is the whole loop.
Nothing self-publishes. Every submission lands in a queue and a human decides. A build that rests on a performance number we cannot trace to a source will not be published at all, no matter who submitted it.
Published community builds are credited to your account name - the page says “Built and shared by” and then that name. Change your account name and the credit changes with it. If you would rather not be named at all, tell us and we will pull the credit or the build, whichever you prefer.
Ask us to remove your build and we will remove it, and the licence ends there. We stop using the photos. There is no clause here that lets us keep running them in something we published earlier, because that would make the promise worthless.
What we cannot do is reach copies that already exist somewhere else - search engine caches, the Internet Archive, someone’s screenshot. We will not pretend otherwise. Anything you put on a public web page can outlive the page.
Submissions are not paid, and sharing a build does not entitle you to anything. If a page with your build on it carries an affiliate link, that commission is ours and we say so on the page. You are welcome to that being a reason not to submit.
If these terms change, the version above changes with them, and submissions made under the old version keep pointing at the old version. We do not retroactively rewrite what you agreed to.
