The important one: building is at your own risk

Specs, compatibility results, benchmark figures, and shopping lists on this site are informational. We cite our sources and we refuse to publish figures we cannot trace, but sources can be wrong, parts get revised silently, and a compatibility check is not a guarantee that two components will physically or electrically work together in your specific case.

Check the manufacturer before you buy. You are responsible for what you order, what you assemble, and anything that happens to your hardware while you do it - and for the warranty you may be voiding. If a part list here is wrong, we want to know: report a correction.

Prices and availability

Prices shown come from retailers and go stale. Availability changes hourly, especially for the parts this site is about. Treat every price here as an indication and the retailer’s own checkout page as the truth. We do not sell anything.

Accounts

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Do not impersonate anyone. We can suspend or close an account that is being used to spam, harass, or break these terms.

Submitting builds

Submitting a build is covered by the contributor terms, which are separate, shorter, and versioned. The version you agreed to is recorded on your submission.

Acceptable use

Do not:

• Scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for other people.
• Republish the catalogue wholesale as your own.
• Upload anything you do not have the rights to.
• Try to break, probe, or get around the site’s access controls.

Quoting us with a link back is fine and welcome. That is how any of this works.

The writing, the layout, and the CouchRig name are ours. Specs and benchmark figures are facts, and facts belong to nobody - but the way we have organised, cited, and presented them is the work. Take the fact, not the page.

CouchRig is not affiliated with Valve. Steam, SteamOS, and Steam Machine are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Every other manufacturer and product name here belongs to its owner and is used to describe the hardware, not to suggest anyone endorses us.

No warranty

The site is provided as-is. We do not warrant that it is accurate, complete, current, or available, and we do not promise it will stay online.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, CouchRig is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site - including hardware you bought or damaged acting on information here.
