What a buyer needs to know

Use it for: an AM5 gaming build where you want to compare a processor with additional cache against other CPU options. This is the CPU in our Terra RX 9070 XT proposal; AMD lists six cores, 96MB of L3 cache and a 65W default TDP. Check before buying: confirm motherboard and BIOS support, and budget for a separate cooler. A compact cooler that fits is not automatically sufficient for your chosen settings. AMD recommends liquid cooling for optimal performance; our low-profile air-cooler proposal needs its own thermal testing. Evidence: cache size and a general CPU index do not predict frame rates for your games. Compare relevant game tests, then check current retailer availability and the complete build cost.
